Driven by the stable nickel prices of over US$18, 300/ton, the Taiwanese stainless steel prices are expected to go up further this week.

It’s known that the Taiwanese stainless steel mills will issue the new price next week and it is estimated that they would hike the price further for March.

Since the end of January, the nickel price increased to over US$18,000/ton and kept stable at the level of US$18,300/ton during the Lunar New Year’s Holiday.

This week, the market will probably become active again and the buyers will purchase for replenishing the stock.

It is expected that that the Taiwanese stainless steel mills would lift the price at least by NT$1,500~NT$2,000/ton for March.
