TFT-LCD panel maker AU Optronics (AUO) has extended business operation to EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) services for setting up PV systems and has set up PV systems with total installation capacity of 23.4MWp in Taiwan, according to the company.
AUO produces own-brand BenQ Solar PV modules for sale and internal use. Of the PV systems set up in Taiwan, the largest one is on the roofs of AUO's factory buildings in central Taiwan with installation capacity of 16.3MWp to generate electricity of 55,800 kWh a day on average, AUO said.
AUO also provides smart cloud computing-based system for monitoring PV systems, with such monitoring systems adopted for more than 700 PV systems around the world, the company indicated.
At PV Taiwan 2014 from October 22-24, AUO is showcasing a range of products including: Aer PM060M01, a light PV module consisting of 60 monocrystalline silicon solar cells with a weight of only 10.5kg; SunForte PM096B00, a 330W back-contact PV module with an energy conversion rate of 20.3%; PowerRondo, a device for expansible storage of renewable and conventional energy; and G-racking, a frame for propping PV modules.
AUO said it has finished developing 323W hetero-junction PV modules with an energy conversion rate of 20%.
